is something I’ve been asked a lot recently.

Since the question is as much a ‘𝘸𝘩𝘺’ as a ’𝘩𝘰𝘸’, let me answer both.

𝗧𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝘂𝘆

The obvious reason for posting here is s̶h̶o̶w̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶o̶f̶f̶ marketing.

People can’t buy my services if they don’t know who I am or what I can do.

Rather than tell them, I want to show them.

Of course, producing original, creative, and engaging content takes time and effort. But it’s by far the best way for prospective clients to know exactly what they’ll get before they hire me.

People who don’t like what I share will know not to hire me, while those who do can buy with confidence. What they see here is exactly what they’ll get when we work together. And if this is what they get for free, imagine what they’ll get when they pay for it!

Producing content also makes me better at what I do. I can test out ideas and benefit from the wisdom of crowds.

I learn as much from the responses to my posts as I do in creating them, and I discover what resonates and what doesn’t. That way, I can include things that land well in my presentations and workshops and exclude things that don’t.

Since launching Compliance In The Wild, I’ve been inundated with suggestions for things I could cover. When people are kind enough to take the time to share pictures and ideas with me, I know I’ve got their attention.

When you hire Human Risk, you’re hiring me.

Since I don’t have a big brand behind me, I need to establish trust with my clients, which means being authentic about who they’re hiring.

Sharing insights into how I work, what I do, and the way I think, helps deliver that. As does the fact that I'm passionate about my work; I couldn't do it, if I wasn't. Which is why producing content feels less like a chore and more like a privilege.

Of course, the usual answer to where I’ve come from is by train from either London or Munich. Hence the picture.

But since you’ve been following me on here, you know that already!
